Online versus offline Tournament planner

The Online Tournament Planner includes several features that help you schedule matches. Some features work differently than in the offline planner. In this article, we explain a few important points to keep in mind.

Scheduling matches at multiple locations

When a tournament is played at multiple locations, you can filter the schedule by a specific location in the Online Tournament Planner.

When a location filter is active, only the matches played at the selected location are shown. Matches scheduled at other locations are not visible in the schedule overview at that time.

Remove the location filter to view the matches at all locations again.

Taking matches at other locations into account

Even when a location filter is active, the Online Tournament Planner takes players’ matches and rest time at other locations into account.

If a player still needs rest time after a previous match, an orange warning is shown while scheduling.

This lets you see that a player is not yet available for their next match, even if the previous match is not visible in the current overview because of the location filter.

Rest time between matches

While scheduling, the Online Tournament Planner can indicate when a player does not have enough rest time between two matches.

Rest time is shown with an orange indicator, so you can take a player’s required rest time into account while scheduling.

Please keep in mind that:

  • the rest time display can be turned off;
  • a warning can be ignored while scheduling;
  • filters affect which matches you see in the schedule overview.

We therefore recommend removing the location filter regularly while scheduling. This gives you a complete overview of all scheduled matches, regardless of location.

Good to know

The Online Tournament Planner supports scheduling tournaments at one or more locations. By using the location filters and rest time warnings, you can avoid scheduling matches for the same player too close together.

Before finalising the schedule, always check the complete match schedule and remove any filters to make sure there are no conflicts.
