# Start up with Tournament Software

## Order the license, link your license and link the bank account to receive entry fee

Before managing your tournament and receiving entry-fee payouts, complete three separate steps:

1. Order a license for your club or organization.
2. Have your tournament linked to that license.
3. Link and verify the bank account associated with that license.

**Ordering a license does not automatically complete the tournament linking or bank verification.** Complete each step below before you need to manage entries or receive payouts.

 1\. Order your license

You need a license to use Tournament Planner for your organization. 

If you do not have a suitable license:

1. Open the [Tournament software order page](https://www.tournamentsoftware.com/product/order.aspx?s=2).
2. Complete the order with your club or organization’s details.
3. Keep your order confirmation and order number.

If you already have a license but are unsure whether it is suitable, [contact the helpdesk](https://2eu8gb.share-eu1.hsforms.com/2DhpD6Xx3TAOkKPP6R8-ahg) before placing another order.

 2\. Have your tournament linked to your license

After ordering, contact the helpdesk and provide:

- Your order number.
- Your club or organization’s name and club number, if available.
- A direct link to the tournament.
- The email address used for the order.

The helpdesk can arrange for the license to be created and the tournament to be linked to it.

**Wait for confirmation that the linking is complete.** An order confirmation alone does not confirm that your tournament is linked.

A tournament may initially be linked to the federation rather than your own organization. The helpdesk needs to check the link so that your tournament uses the correct license.

 3\. Link and verify your bank account

To receive entry-fee payouts, your bank account must be linked to the correct license and verified.

1. Choose  [Stripe](https://support.tournamentsoftware.com/en/setup-stripe-payments?hsLang=en)   or   [iDeal/Wero](https://support.tournamentsoftware.com/en/set-up-ideal-payments?hsLang=en)
2. Use the verification details and validation code associated with **your own organization’s license**.
3. If the instructions require a €1 verification transfer, use the specified payment details and the correct validation code.
4. Check that bank-account verification has been completed.

**Do not use a validation code belonging to  another club, or another license.** Making a verification transfer with the wrong code does not verify the bank account for your own license.

If you already transferred €1 using the wrong code, contact the helpdesk. Confirm the correct license and validation details before repeating the verification process.

**Entry fees paid by players and payouts to your organization are separate steps.** Players having paid does not mean your bank account has been configured correctly. Payouts cannot proceed until the required bank-account setup and verification are complete.

**Troubleshooting**

### **I can log in, but I cannot open or manage my tournament**

Ask the helpdesk to check that:

- Your organization’s license has been created.
- The tournament is linked to that license.
- Your account has permission to manage the tournament.

If you see an authorization error, resetting your password alone may not resolve it. Send the helpdesk the tournament link, the email address you use to log in, and a screenshot of the error. Never send your password.

### I ordered a license, but access is still unavailable

Provide your order number and tournament link. Ask for confirmation that both license creation and tournament linking have been completed. Do not assume the order has been fully processed simply because you received an order confirmation.

### Players have paid, but we have not received a payout

Check that the tournament is linked to your organization’s license and that the bank account for that license is verified. If both are confirmed, ask the helpdesk to investigate the payout status. Do not assume completing verification guarantees an immediate payout.

### I also want our club logo added

A logo must be associated with your organization’s license. Once the license is available and the tournament is correctly linked, send the helpdesk your logo and organization details. A logo request does not replace license setup or bank-account verification.

 Final setup checklist

- \[ \] Your license has been created.
- \[ \] Your tournament is linked to the correct license.
- \[ \] Your account can open and manage the tournament.
- \[ \] Your bank account is linked to that license.
- \[ \] Verification was completed using that license’s validation code.
