Seeding and drawing optimal based on City in OTP

The process of seeding and drawing participants in a knockout draw, including the available seeding options, participant distribution settings, and troubleshooting steps for common issues.

Steps

  1. In the left-hand menu, go to Draws
  2. Click the Actions button and select Seed & Draw
  3. Select Main draw
  4. Choose the sorting method on which the seeding is based
  5. Select the type of seeding:
    • 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 → all seeded participants receive a fixed position
    • 1, 2, 3/4, 5/8 → only the top seeded participants receive fixed positions, while others share placement ranges
  6. Select the number of participants to be placed
  7. (Optional) Adjust the order manually:
    • Use the up/down arrows on a row
    • Drag the row to the desired position
  8. Click Next
  9. Select Distribution by City
  10. Choose Optimal distribution
  11. Click Next
  12. Review the proposed draw
  13. Click Save to finalize the seeding and draw

Expected Result

  • The changes are saved successfully
  • No error message is displayed
  • The seeded and drawn participants are visible in the draw

Troubleshooting

If you are unable to seed or draw participants, check the following:

  • You are logged in
  • A tournament is currently open
  • All tournament data has loaded without errors
  • There are players available in both the tournament and the selected event
  • A knockout draw already exists for the event
  • The draw has not yet been published or drawn
