Learn about what TP Network is and how it works within Tournament Planner.

TP Network allows multiple computers to work simultaneously within Tournament Planner. While the main Tournament Planner installation provides full functionality, TP Network is designed specifically for Match Control tasks. This allows users to manage operational activities such as assigning matches to courts, entering payments, checking in players, and recording results. This setup enables efficient collaboration during tournaments.

How to use TP Network

TP Network can be used in several practical scenarios. For example, the main Tournament Planner computer can be located in a quiet area where scheduling and planning are performed, while TP Network stations are placed at Match Control to manage matches on court.

It is also particularly useful for tournaments with many courts or multiple venues, as separate locations can be configured and filtered for each TP Network computer.

Certain administrative functions are not available within TP Network. These include:

  • Publishing the tournament

  • Sending emails or text messages

  • Receiving online entries

  • Editing tournament properties

  • Rescheduling matches

To use TP Network, one or more additional computers are required that are connected to the same local network as the main Tournament Planner computer. A wired local network connection is recommended to ensure a stable and reliable connection.

The TP Network connection is established through the local network and synchronizes directly with Tournament Planner. This means that all actions performed in TP Network are immediately reflected in the main application.

How to enable TP Network

  1. Open Tournament Planner.

  2. Go to Extra.

  3. Select Tournament Planner Network.

  4. Enter a password that will be required for TP Network connections.

  5. Enable the connection option.

Disabling this setting will disconnect TP Network access.

How to connect using TP Network

  1. Open the TP Network application.

  2. Click Login in the top-right corner.

  3. Enter the IP address of the computer running Tournament Planner.

  4. Enter the configured password.

  5. Confirm the connection.

Once connected successfully, the scheduled matches will appear automatically.

Using TP Network during the tournament

After connecting, users can work with TP Network by viewing all scheduled matches and switching between:

  • Scheduled matches

  • Not scheduled matches

  • Finished matches

These options are available through the tabs at the bottom of the screen.

Double-clicking a match opens the match information window. From there, users can perform the same operational tasks available in Tournament Planner related to match control and execution.
